A record-breaking sponsorship is making history—and helping ensure this year’s North Dakota FFA State Convention will deliver more opportunity than ever before.

Hess Corporation has been named Presenting Sponsor of the 96th annual North Dakota FFA State Convention, contributing $25,000—the largest single-event sponsorship in the Foundation’s history.

The North Dakota FFA State Convention is held annually the first Monday through Thursday of June on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo. Since 1929, the event has grown from a small gathering of young agricultural leaders into one of the largest youth-focused gatherings in the state. Today, it draws more than 1,400 students, educators, and guests from every corner of North Dakota.

The sponsorship from Hess Corporation is a reflection of shared values: a belief in agriculture, education, and the power of young people to lead. Their support will enhance several key convention elements—including Career Development Events, award celebrations, hands-on learning opportunities, and the move to a new (bigger) venue—while also helping remove financial barriers to student participation.

The Sanford Health Athletic Complex (SHAC) in Fargo will host the North Dakota State FFA Convention for the first time June 2-4, 2025. After decades at Bentson Bunker Fieldhouse, the convention is moving to this larger venue due to record growth and capacity needs.

“This partnership speaks volumes about Hess’ commitment to growing strong communities and investing in the next generation,” said Laiken DeMorrett, Executive Director of the North Dakota FFA Foundation. “It’s a meaningful contribution at a time when FFA participation is at an all-time high across the state.”

The convention serves as the culminating event of the FFA year and a launchpad for future leaders. Over the course of four days, students take part in competitions, career fairs, leadership workshops, and recognition ceremonies. Along the way, they meet industry leaders, explore career pathways, and sharpen the skills that will serve them well in agriculture—and beyond.

With more than 7,700 members across 96 chapters, North Dakota FFA continues to experience record engagement and growth. The Foundation remains focused on expanding access, deepening impact, and ensuring that every member has a chance to participate fully in life-shaping opportunities like the State Convention.

Media and guests are welcome at the convention. Those interested in attending or arranging interviews with students, FFA members, educators, and state leaders can contact Laiken DeMorrett at [email protected].
