Monthly Foundation Update: November 2019

National Convention came and went in a blur or excitement.  North Dakota was well represented again this year with many members and chapters present.  To view the results of ND members at National Convention, click here.  Well done to all ND FFA members who competed!

Blue Jackets Bright Futures applications closed November 15th and 260 winners have been decided!  With over 330 applicants it was difficult to select only 260.  Thanks to all who applied, and congrats to those who were selected! These will be given away on January 4th at the Winter Leadership Conference.

25 applicants received mini-grants from the Ag in the Classroom Grant funded by ND Department of Agriculture.  It is exciting to see so many different programs receive funding to start or continue agriculture programs for the youth right here in North Dakota!  To see the recipients, click here

The first-ever State LDE Day was held in Bismarck on November 20th.  The event was filled with excitement and energy as members competed for a ticket to participate at the 2020 National Convention.  Here are the winners:

• Employment Skills: Laura Muggli – Grant County FFA
• Demonstration: Chevy Dhamers and William Schmidt – New England FFA
• Creed: Ty MacDonald – Bismarck FFA
• Prepared Public Speaking: Kourtney Bitz – Napoleon FFA
• Extemporaneous Public Speaking: Janae Weigel – Napoleon FFA
• Parliamentary Procedure: Napoleon FFA
