2019-20 State FFA Officer Team Elected

On Thursday, June 7, The North Dakota FFA elected its State Officer team for 2019-2020. The election took place during the 90th North Dakota State FFA Convention held on the campus of North Dakota State University. The officer team was elected by delegates from the 86 FFA chapters throughout North Dakota.

The State Officer team consists of seven ND FFA members from across the state who will spend the next calendar year working together to promote the ND FFA and to engage its over 6,000 active members.  They will also spend their time representing North Dakota at conferences in Washington, D.C. and Indianapolis.

“It is an extreme honor to be elected as a State Officer,” says Tamra Maddock, Executive Director of the ND FFA Foundation. “These young men and women have worked incredibly hard throughout their entire FFA career and have earned the titles they now bear.”

Twelve candidates ran for the seven open positions. The process of election includes spending numerous hours throughout the week with a special committee made of members and industry professionals. Once this committee gives its report and recommendations, it is the responsibility of the ND FFA members to vote and choose the succeeding officer team.

“North Dakota spends a lot of time and puts forth a lot of resources to selecting the candidates who receive the title as officer,” says Aaron Anderson, State Supervisor of the ND FFA Association. “Earning this title is more than simply having had a successful FFA career, it means they’ve earned the respect from their peers and colleagues.”
