Tyler Lee Earns Star in Ag. Placement

Four years ago, Tyler Lee was given an offer to work with his dad at Zink Farms in Carrington, ND.  He remembers, excitedly, taking the offer. “I just love running tractors and seeing how everything works,” says Tyler.  “And I got to work with my dad!” He may not have known at the time, but his work throughout the next couple of years, along with many life lessons, would earn him the 2020 Star in Ag. Placement award.

When asked what lessons he takes away from his experiences at Zink Farms, Tyler shares his experience with time management is the most important.  “You have to be able to manage your time, especially when you’re doing a job by yourself,” says Tyler.  “You have to know how long it’s going to take and when you should be done in order to move on to the next job that needs to be done.”

Tyler’s work and experience didn’t only earn him a top award; it also helped paint his future.  Tyler will attend Lake Region State College this fall and plans to major in Precision Agriculture.  “I love the technology in farming,” says Tyler.  “I hope to learn more about what we could use to make things even more efficient and accurate.”

After he earns his degree, Tyler plans to continue working with Zink Farms.  “I’m really glad I had the chance to work here and I want to go back,” said Tyler.  “I’m just really thankful for the job and what it gave me.”
