We are thrilled to announce that the North Dakota FFA Foundation has been selected to receive a generous contribution as part of the prestigious Odin Award, presented by First International Bank and Trust. This recognition highlights our dedication to community service, leadership, and fostering educational opportunities for the youth of North Dakota.
About the Odin Award
The Odin Award is named after Odin Johnson, a visionary in the banking industry and a foundational figure for First International Bank and Trust. The award is given annually to an employee of the bank who has demonstrated exceptional contributions to community service and professional excellence. As part of the award, the honored employee selects a nonprofit to receive a $5,000 donation. Additionally, if the employee contributes to the nonprofit, the bank matches this amount, creating a potential gift of $15,000.
Celebrating Dennis Walsh
This year, Dennis Walsh, Chief Credit Officer at First International Bank and Trust, received the Odin Award. Walsh, a former ND FFA Foundation Board Member (1984, 2005) with a personal connection to FFA—he was a state FFA Officer in 1974, and his son Aaron was a state FFA Officer in 2004-2005—chose our foundation to receive the award funds. Walsh personally contributed $5,000, which was matched by the bank, resulting in a total gift of $15,000 to the North Dakota FFA Foundation.
“The North Dakota FFA Foundation has shown exceptional dedication to fostering leadership and educational opportunities for young people across the state. Their programs not only support agricultural education but also instill values of hard work, responsibility, and community involvement,” said Walsh.
The ND FFA Foundation Community
This honor is a testament to the collective effort of our members, volunteers, and supporters. It reflects the hard work and passion that drive us every day to create positive change in our communities. We are deeply grateful for this recognition and the encouragement it provides to continue our mission.
“Receiving the Odin Award funds is a tremendous honor for us. It acknowledges the hard work and commitment of our members, volunteers, and supporters who strive every day to make a positive impact in our communities,” said Beth Allen, Fiscal Manager of the North Dakota FFA Foundation.
Bright Futures Ahead
As we celebrate this achievement, we are excited about the future and the continued partnership with First International Bank and Trust. Together, we will keep working towards empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders.
“Congratulations to the North Dakota FFA Foundation on this well-deserved recognition. We look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting their mission to develop the next generation of leaders,” concluded Walsh.
We thank everyone who has been part of our journey and invite you to celebrate this wonderful contribution by a dear ND FFA Foundation friend.
