I grew up on a farm and ranch near Manning, ND where I my love for agriculture started! From a young age, I knew I wanted to have a career in agriculture and sought out opportunities to achieve that. Agricultural Education combines my love for ag with the ability to teach students and consumers more about the industry! I am very excited to be entering into the classroom as a Ag Teacher and FFA Advisor in a few months and look forward to all the opportunities and experiences to come![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2961″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What CDEs were you involved in as a high schooler?
I competed in livestock judging, horse judging, farm business management, range judging, parliamentary procedure and prepared public speaking.
What are you looking for to learning/experiencing as the NDAAE Intern?
I am most looking forward to getting to know other Ag teachers from across the state and build connections for the future! I have always been very involved in my ag program. I was lucky and was always able to enroll in an ag class. I thrived in and loved being in these classes. They taught me valuable life lessons and have helped mold me into the person I am today. I couldn’t think of a better thing to do than to give back to the ag community. I also want to guide the next generations of students to the great gifts that agriculture gives to the world. I also had two very influential ag teachers that were always there for me and wanted what is best for me, so I want to be that safe person that kids can rely on and trust.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2962″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What year are you in school and when do you plan to graduate?
I am currently a sophomore at NDSU, and I will hopefully be graduating in the
spring of 2024.
What is your all-time favorite meal?
I’m a sucker for a good chicken parmesan.
What would you like readers to know about you?
I am grateful to have such an opportunity, and I can’t wait to better myself and
use all this information to be a better educator. I also encourage everyone to
go out and take that step into the uncomfortable. I was originally
uncomfortable applying for this scholarship, but it has made me better and has been a blessing. You never know what’s out there if you don’t step into
the uncomfortable.
What are you looking for to learning/experiencing as the Teach Ag Intern?
I am really looking forward to learning how to better organize things and stay
on top of items. I am also really looking forward to getting a taste of what
teaching is really like. It gives me an insight on how to better be creative, and
how to use that creativity to better others. I am also looking forward to
meeting numerous people throughout the state that I will be able to talk to
when I am a teacher. I’m also looking forward to seeing some of the
responsibility that comes along with being a teacher.
What CDEs were you involved in as a high schooler?
Livestock evaluation, dairy cattle evaluation, meats evaluation, small animals, parliamentary procedure and creed
speaking. I was also lucky enough to serve as my chapter’s reporter for two years and as their president for one.
