Trish Schneider – Poultry Production Proficiency Award Winner

Trish Schneider is a sixteen-year old from Hebron , North Dakota .  She began her Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program in the area of poultry production.  Her family has been in poultry production for quite a few years, and Trish decided that this was a good project for her to learn new skills and make some money.

In 2005, Trish borrowed money from her parents and purchased 155 Cornish Rock chickens and feed.  She raised the chickens and was able to market the chickens through word of mouth.  In 2006, Trish decided to increase her production and raised 250 chickens and sold them for an average of $5.50 each.

After graduating from Hebron High School , Trish plans to attend NDSU and major in animal science and then spend her career farming and ranching.

The Poultry Production proficiency awards are sponsored by the ND FFA Foundation.
