Teah Frye - Wildlife Production and Management Placement Proficiency Award Winner

Teah Frye is a hardworking young woman.  In addition to working on the family farm and the Watford City Vet Clinic, this recent graduate from Watford City High School has been busy helping out the wildlife in her area.  Since 2003, Teah has been buying and raising pheasants and preparing habitat for both pheasants and deer around her farm.

“I started this project because I have always been interested in wildlife and enjoy hunting and fishing.  Our pheasant population has been getting low over the years, so I decided to help them out a little and raise some pheasants of my own.  Since my brother and I have been raising pheasants, our pheasant population has grown tremendously.  I really enjoy having all of these pheasants right by our house and having the extra pheasants to hunt,” said Teah.

Teah’s future plans are to run for an FFA state office this summer and attend NDSU in the fall, majoring in animal science.  After obtaining her degree at NDSU, she plans to go to veterinary school and then move back to North Dakota .

The Wildlife Production and Management Placement proficiency awards are sponsored by the ND Game and Fish Department.
