Josh Sattler – Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Placement Proficiency Award Winner

Josh Sattler, a recent graduate of Rugby High School , knew that he wanted to work on vehicles when he started observing his dad working in their family shop at home.  His work with Hartley’s Body Shop began in 2003 where he sanded, primed, and painted busses and charters.  Josh also worked in the mechanics part of the shop where he worked with welding and the fabrication of body parts.

Hartley’s Body Shop is a bus sales and service company which operates and services clients in a three state region.  It is a very large business operated with few employees, so employees must be knowledgeable in several aspects of agricultural mechanics.

Josh has put in over 3,000 hours working for Hartley’s in the past three years.  Some of the skills that Josh has learned include: using a cutting wheel, welding, checking fluids and replacing parts on the busses, sanding and painting, and body repair and maintenance.

Josh plans to attend Bismarck State College in the fall with an emphasis in auto body repair.  After obtaining a degree he plans to start his own body shop.

The Ag Mechanics Repair and Maintenance Proficiency awards are sponsored by Butler Machinery and a tool kit is provided to the winner of this area by Titan Machinery.
