Cyndi Keller – Dairy Production Entrepreneurship Proficiency State Winner

By Brenda Goettle

Responsibility, the ability to improvise, and a solid work ethic - these are just a few of the traits that Cyndi Keller hoped to gain through her work on her family’s dairy farm.  Cyndi has three cows of her own, and she is instrumental in the day-to-day operation of her family’s entire dairy herd.  She has developed strong skills in dairy herd health, nutrition, and management practices.  As a sophomore, Cyndi proved her skill in dairy cattle selection by winning the State FFA Dairy Judging Career Development Event.  This Harvey High School graduate also owns beef cattle, sheep, and horses.  Not only does she enjoy working with her livestock, she also knows that the skills she is gaining will help her in the future.  Cyndi plans to attend Jamestown College and major in biology with a possible career as a forensic scientist.

The Dairy Production Entrepreneurship proficiency awards are sponsored by Midwest Dairy Assn.  -  ND Division.
