Bryant Stangeland- Ag Mechanics Energy Systems Placement Proficiency

 The Technology of Communications

Bryant Stangeland, 18, from the Carrington FFA Chapter works at Cannon Technologies as an electrical technician support.  He started in October of 2005, and was working part-time there during the school year for his agricultural education co-op placement work experience.

Bryant’s major goal when planning his Supervised Agricultural Experience was to learn a knowledge base in the electronic communications.  He wanted to learn to build, test, and program circuit boards and meters. Bryant is making progress towards his goals; he has learned skills such as math, how to use measuring devices, how to solder components on the circuit boards, and program and test meters.  He has also begun to develop an understanding of the communications system.

Bryant has also been involved in FFA leadership activities such as entering static exhibits at the ND State Fair in the agriculture mechanics division, helping with the FFA Adopt-A-Highway program, and many more. Bryant’s chapter advisor, Mr. Joel Lemer, said “Bryant has excelled in this job and has a very good aptitude for math and computers. He has had good exposure to the electronics communications field and has gained valuable skills in this field as well.”

The Ag Mechanics Energy Systems Placement Proficiency awards are sponsored by OtterTail Power Company.
