Arron Brossart – Home and Community Development Prof.

 Time and Hard Work

Arron Brossart, an 18 year old student and Rugby FFA member focused his Supervised Agriculture Experience Program on one of his passions – landscaping.

Arron’s SAE is centered on improving his backyard that was in desperate need of a makeover. He started by planning the landscape design, then estimating the materials needed. Arron’s project extended over two summers, so his responsibilities have changed as the jobs were accomplished and new phases of the project needed to be started. This summer he will continue to work on the final aspect of the overall design and hopes to have it finished before summer is out.

Some of Arron’s goals when first starting his SAE were to learn more about landscaping and horticulture. Another goal was to utilize his skills learned in his agriculture education classes to help him accomplish the wiring of the landscape project. Arron said “I am pretty sure I would not have been able to wire these electrical devices without the training I had received.”

Arron graduated from Rugby High School in May, 2007. Following graduation Arron will attend MSU Bottineau and pursue a degree in computer engineering and horticulture. He then wants to enlist in the Army National Guard.

The Home and/or Community Development Placement Proficiency awards are sponsored by the ND Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives.
