Adam Harildstad –
Diversified Horticulture Placement By
Brenda Goettle If
you ever drive by the Garrison Diversion Conservancy District’s offices near
Carrington, the first thing you will notice is the beautiful grounds and flower
beds. Adam Harildstad of the Carrington FFA Chapter is the person
responsible for keeping them that way. Because these grounds are used to
showcase the potential benefit of irrigation via the Garrison Diversion Project,
Adam understands the importance of keeping the grounds in tip-top shape
Adam began working at the Garrison Diversion offices in 2005. Since
then he has planted and maintained eleven flower beds; mowed, sprayed and
watered the huge lawns; and maintained a large pond, keeping it fresh and
algae-free. He has also learned to do basic maintenance on the roto-tillers
and lawn tractors to prolong the life of the equipment and prevent down time.
