PROCEDURE EVENT TO BE HELD IN WHERE:
State Capitol in the Brynhild Haugland Room WHEN:
October 7, 2009 – Contest begins at 8:40, Finalists named at 1:00 pm, Finals
round at 1:30 pm Bismarck, ND – The ND FFA Association will host the State FFA Parliamentary Procedure Contest in Bismarck at the state capitol on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 where the top two teams from each of the eight districts will have an opportunity to show how much they know about Robert’s Rules of Order. The purpose of this event is to encourage the effective use of the official FFA opening and closing ceremonies and to provide recognition to the chapters excelling in the proper use of parliamentary procedure in conducting chapter meetings. In the morning, the teams
will have a 25 question test where officers will answer questions concerning
motions, rulings, and voting. Next
each team will present a demonstration involving the official FFA ceremonies and
a demonstration of parliamentary procedure abilities using an activity format. At approximately 1:00 pm in
the Brynhild Haugland Room the finalists will be announced, and at 1:30 pm the
top four teams will compete for the finals round.
This round is open to the public. Awards
ceremony will immediately follow the final round. The winner of the State FFA
Parliamentary Procedure Contest will be able to compete against the top teams
from every state at the National FFA Convention, which is held in The
