PROCEDURES

FOR ISSUANCE OF

FFA LICENSE PLATES

There are no restrictions on who may apply for or display FFA license plates.

The license plates may be displayed on cars, pickups, and motor homes weighing less than 10,000 pounds.

There is a one-time $10 fee to obtain the license plates.
The license plates will be consecutively numbered, beginning with 95001, and be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Personalized (vanity) plates will be available but limited to a maximum of five (5) characters and spaces.  In addition to the $10 fee to obtain the FFA license plates, there is also an annual fee of $25 for personalized license plates.

Availability of a personalized license plate can be checked at the Motor Vehicle Division website www.state.nd.us/dot/motor.html.

Vehicle owners who currently have personalized license plates or other specially numbered plates may convert them to FFA license plates if they contain no more than five (5) characters and spaces.

To apply for FFA license plates, the vehicle owner may apply in person at the Motor Vehicle Division office in Bismarck or send a SIGNED letter of request, along with the $10 fee, to the Bismarck office (608 E. Boulevard Ave, Bismarck, ND 58505-0780).  The letter must include a description of the vehicle (current license plate number or VIN) for which the FFA license plate is being requested.
