Singing FFA Members Make CD

Bismarck – Nine North Dakota FFA members traveled to Mobridge , South Dakota on Saturday, December 15, 2007 to begin their singing careers.  These nine members were chosen for their singing and songwriting abilities to make a CD featuring talented FFA members.  The students were nervous but also very excited about becoming part of the first FFA talent CD in the state.

Doug Vannurden , Assistant State Supervisor for Agriculture Education and FFA said, “We have such good talent at our district leadership meetings and state conventions that it seemed logical to showcase these young people.  Rory Hoffman, who helped produce this album through Depot Music, is a blind musician and recording artist.  He is a three-time Christian Country Music Musician of the Year.  With his expertise and patience, we knew the album would be special.”

Sponsorship through the US Durum Growers Association made this project possible.

Students performing on the CD were Craig Goettle from the Kenmare FFA Chapter with an original song; Serena Harris, Tonya Zimmerman, and Kylee Jeffers (on guitar) from the Garrison FFA Chapter; Morgan Hauge from the Stanley FFA Chapter; Caitlin Layden and Chloe Krinke from the Scranton FFA Chapter; Kathryn Smith from the Lisbon FFA Chapter with an original song; and Jordan Zenker from the Gackle/Streeter FFA Chapter.

The CD will be on sale after Christmas.  Please call the ND FFA Foundation office at 701-224-8390 for more information.
